Instructions for teaching Restorative dentistry 4 th year, autumn semester



The practical training will be performed at the  SIMU (Brno, Bohunice) and at the Department  for
Stomatology, St. Ann Faculty Hospital.



Students will work on simulators and patients. Each student must have a protocol of practical
training and record the tasks. The protocols will be checked electronically acc. to instructions
during the the week.

Lessons beginn at 7:30.

Preparation and making fillings


Tuesday posterior area

-          Theoretical introduction, section matrices, contact area, custom ring technique.

-          Practical training work with composite materials in posterior area

-          Praparation class II. cavity MO for amalgam in first maxillary molar. Making base.

-          Practical training is partly supported by  Dentsply Sirona – restorative.

Wednesday – anterior area

-          Short repetition – making composite filings

-          Silicone key - explanation

-          Practical training

Silicone key, rubberdam, reconstruction of maxillary central incisor using stratification
technique.

Class III. cavity preparation in maxillary central incisor mesially and distally

Class V. cavity preparation for GIC  in second maxillary premolar

Class V. cavity preparation for composite in central maxillary incisor


Students must buy teeth (in the bookstore):

11, 21,15 or 25,16 or26.


Accessories for training: slippers, lab coat, tools (drills, hand tools), pencil, gloves.
Respirators are strictly recommended.






Clinical training

St. Ann


Clinical training Monday, Thursday, Friday

·         At the výukový sál students will perform treatment of patients. Brief introduction is
from 7.30 to 8.00.

·         Each students must perform at least 2  investigation and 1 treatment (filling) and
assistance by 2 investigations and 1 filling.

Dress code: completely white dress, slippers, gloves, respirator FFP2


Completion of the course:.

·         The condition of credit is 100% attendance at seminars, fulfillment of tasks. The course
of the exercise is kept on record - protocol.

·         The protocols will be checked electronically acc to instructions.

·         Each absence must be excused the study department. Teachers are entitled to in case of
serious deficiencies in knowledge and behavior of the student exclude student from the classes of
the day.

Reasons for exclusion from practical lessons:

·         Arriving late (10 minutes or more unexcused), repeated late arrival, inappropriate looks
(student does not have clean clothes, slippers, nail polish, rings, not sober etc.).

·         Inappropriate, rude behavior, lack of basic knowledge.

·         Teachers may also assign an essay to the student in a range of 3 A4 pages (pages) or
repeat preparation on the model.

·         The guarantee of the subject is informed about any extraordinary tasks and exclusion from
practical training.

·         Repetition of missed exercise is possible after end of semester, only after consultation
with the teacher and also the guarantor of the subject.
