General information, Safety rules in laboratory
Microbiology - practical classes have two lecture forms - seminars and lab classes.
You can use this interactive syllabus as a walkthrough of the semester organisation.
It is divided into chapters according to the taught lesson and the week of the semester. If you "click" on the chapter, you will see more details, recommended study materials or subchapters.
Requirements:
1) 100% attendance in labs and seminars

Protocols #2
Protocol no. 2 will contain:
- evaluation of colonies of all three microorganisms (size, shape, edges, profile, surface, transparency, color, change in surroundings)
- procedure of Gram staining, principle, drawing or picture of your own results
- drawing or photo of permanent preparations - describe: cocci, bacilli, G+, G-, aerobic, anaerobic, normal microbiota or not, where we can find them (skin, GIT, …), disease which they can cause
Students are expected to upload completed protocols via Homework Vault below.

INSTRUCTIONS: Completed protocols from Lab class No.3 and No.4 will be submitted together (it means after attending Lab class No.4)
Students are expected to upload both protocols (3+4) via Homework Vault below.

Protocol no. 4 will contain:
- definition of MIC and MBC;
- MBC value; evaluate chloramphenicol as bacteriostatic or bactericidal (input data for evaluation will be provided by lecturers)
- determination of concentration of E. coli in unknown sample; draw the scheme of dilution into your protocol. (Data for evaluation will be provided).
