Guest lecture by a specialist from Regensburg. March 24, 25 / April 3,8 "November," David Mamet's "hilarious political comedy" (New York Theatre Guide), will open this Sunday, 11 March, at Kabinet Múz in Brno. Directed by Gene Terruso of the Department of English and American Studies, this satirical look at American political corruption features Jeff Smith, also of our department, in the role of a US president with more than a faint resemblance to certain current political figures. Deeply unpopular, the president hopes to save his fading chances for re-election through a bizarre scheme that somehow ends up involving gay marriage, Native American casinos, and the peculiar American tradition of "pardoning" Thanksgiving turkeys. - The play will also perform on Monday, 12 March; Saturday and Sunday, 24 and 25 March; and Tuesday and Wednesday, 3 and 8 April. All show times are 7 pm. Tickets are 250 Kcs, or 125 Kcs for students, and may be booked by e-mail at BESTdivadlo@gmail.com. Kabinet Múz is at Sukova 4: https://goo.gl/maps/8kgfRTtZZqK2.
