Choose up to four modules and create your own individual summer course. Each module lasts one week and includes practical lessons in Russian and also exciting virtual events. Upon completion of the course participants will be given a certificate for their completed program. General Course July 1-7, 2020 This course is designed to help you deepen your knowledge of the Russian language and practice all the main skills simultaneously. It combines grammar, vocabulary and cultural aspects. 1. Conversational Russian This conversational course is designed to help you immerse yourself Its comprehensive curriculum combines a Russian-speaking environment and start speaking Russian easily and with pleasure. 2. Cases of Russian Language July 8-14, 2020 This course will help you quickly grasp the grammatical forms of certain cases, as well as their meanings and usage examples. 1. Corrective Course July 15-21, 2020 This course offers a series of workshops covering the most complicated aspects of Russian grammar and aimed at helping students improve certain language skills. 2. Russian Video Familiarize yourself with the way Russians speak and learn more about Russian history and culture while watching movies and videos made in the USSR and Russia. 1. TORFL-1 Preparation Course July 22-28, 2020 This course course will help you determine your actual language level and prepare for the test of Russian as a Foreign Language (TORFL). 2. Russian Theater This course revolves around contemporary Russian drama. Its program may include plays by N. Kolyada, O. Mukhina, V. Sygarev, P. Pryazko, and I. Vyrypaev. 1. Politics and Diplomacy July 1-7, 2020 This course is dedicated to modern Russian statehood, its political structure, formation of civil society institutes, and interaction with international organizations such as the UN, BRICS, WTO and the EU. 2. Cases of Russian Language This course will help you quickly grasp the grammatical forms of certain cases, as well as their meanings and usage examples. Modern Literature Explore how the main social, political and cultural developments of Russia (the 1950s-2010s) were reflected in modern Russian literature, music, cinematography, and art. 1. Conversational Russian July 15-21, 2020 This conversational course is designed to help you immerse yourself into a Russian-speaking environment and start speaking Russian easily and with pleasure. 2. Russian in the Media The aim of this course is not only to let students know about the specific language used in the Russian media world, but also to review the Russian media, read articles, watch videos and take part in discussions. 1. TORFL-2 Preparation Course July 22-28, 2020 This course will help you determine your actual language level and prepare for the test of Russian as a Foreign Language (TORFL). 2. Russian Rock Familiarize yourself with Russian rock music bands and their creative work and see the places where rock culture was born in Russia. Listen to their songs and learn Russian grammar, understand idioms and images! 3. Russian History The mysterious Russian soul is a mix of pagan superstitions, orthodox dogmas, fearlessness and humility at the same time. This course is a fascinating trip through the centuries and political regimes. Dive into the Russian Culture! ITMO University in collaboration with the best theatres and museums of St. Petersburg offers its summer school students many interactive and unique VR tours, performances, ballet and other exciting events. Moreover, ITMO will conduct a special workshop on how to cook traditional Russian dishes.
