Requirements

Every student is required to write four short essays during the course.  The essays must be typed
(using a 12-point font) and double-spaced.  Please do NOT submit an essay via the information
system.  Instead, bring a hard copy to class on the due date.  Be sure to put your name, the name
of the class, and the class section on the top of every page that you submit.



Essay One   (100-120 words)

 Topic: Work and Jobs

Assignment – Please write a short essay about a job that you have had.  Describe the job and your
feelings about it.  If you have never had a job, then write about your studies.


Due dates:        Sections A& B – October 9

                        Sections C& D – October 16











Evaluation (40 points)


30 points - essays

                  (Each essay is worth 10 points.  Only the three best essay scores will be
counted) *

10 points - class participation and attendance
