PEPRNIK UNITS 1-2


 1. Tom is already long gone when Martin’s alarm clock goes off.

Tom už je dávno pryč když Martinovi zvoní budík.


 2. Briefs and vests are in the chest of drawers.

Slipy a nátělníky jsou v prádelníku.


 3. John is a heavy sleeper. When Martin comes to wake him up, he just pulls his blanket up over
his ears.

John je velký spáč. Když ho přijde martin budit, jen si přetahne  deku přes uši.


 4. He likes to sleep late but in the end he always gets to school on time.

Rád si dlouho pospí, ale nakonec se vždycky dostane do školy včas.


 5. I can’t be late today.  We have a test in English. Latecomers miss the beginning of the
dictation and lose some points.

Dneska nemůžu přijít pozdě. Píšeme zkoušku z angličtiny. Ti co přijdou pozdě, promeškají začátek
diktátu a  ztratí část bodů.


 6. I must have left the notebook behind in the classroom.

Určitě´s nechal ten sešit ve třídě.


 7. I must to have (I need to have) a bath mat in the bathroom. I hate it when I have to stand with
my bare feet on a cold tile floor.

Já  musím mít v koupelně koupelnovou předložku. Úplně nesnáším, když musím stát  bosá na studených
kachličkách.


 8. The early bird catches the worm.

Ranní ptáče dál doskáče.
 9. These cheap clocks often lose or gain time.

Často se tyto levné hodiny  zpožďují nebo předcházejí.


10. Sometimes I oversleep when I forget to wind up (set) the alarm clock.

Někdy  zaspím, když zapomenu  natáhnout budík.
