Description of the project C.1 Why do you want to carry out this project? What are the project objectives? Please explain the relevance of your project to the needs and objectives of participating organisations. This mobility project is an important tool for a well structured and goal-directed international cooperation in tercial education. The focus is on the historical topics, e.g. portraits of Holocaust victims and survivors, portraits of the volunteers connected with the Nansen-aid organisation in the years 1938 - 1940. The central perspective points toward an analysis of "active citizenship" in the mirror of present democracy discourse in Europe. The overall project objectives shall enable the students and other participants profound understanding and adequate realizing of the essential human values such as respect to national and religious minorities. At the same time, the mobility outcomes guarantee for the students the competencies to promote the acquired knowledge in the context frame of the Norwegian-Czech mutual cultural exchange relations. This target matches the desirable profile of the students and graduates of Masaryk University and is in full adequacy with the character of the participating partner organisations. Mgr. Kristyna Troneckova, Department of Psychology, Faculty of Arts, Masaryk University: Thanks to this mobility, her main goal is to improve teaching methods and content of the course Psychology of Religion at the Faculty of Arts, Masaryk University. She can contribute to this course with new multicultural outcomes and teach students the real-life experience and findings which she can extensively increase thanks to the mentioned research and the possibility of EEA Grants. At Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences, she intends to collect the material for her dissertation from Psychology which is aimed at the connections between the different types of spirituality and the well-being of the elderly in the multicultural context. The aim of this qualitative research is to capture and describe the quality of life and spirituality in the Norwegian and Bhutanese population. Bhutan known as the Land of Happiness became popular because of Gross National Happiness which has own measurement. Norway is one of the richest countries with the strongest economy. According to the World Happiness Report (2017), Norway is the happiest country in the World, Bhutan ranked 97th. 21 Due to above-mentioned facts, she has chosen these countries as main pillars for her research and thus, for her whole dissertation. Apart from the main pillars including Norwegians and Bhutanese, she intends to include other chosen nationalities with a smaller sample, such as Czechs and Israelis, to the research for better understanding of examined factors widely. The research is mainly based on semistructured interviews and the use of interpretative phenomenological analysis serving as a tool for evaluating the interviews. At INN University, the supervisor is Dr Ricardo Lugo from the Institute for Psychology who can give her comments and advice for her dissertation. She can help him with the preparation of his classes and teach the students. It will help her to gain more international experience with teaching and improve her current knowledge. Another objective is a joint research paper with Dr Lugo aimed at the impact of nature and spirituality on life satisfaction. Thanks to this collaboration, we can deepen the relationships between the home and host University. C.2 How does your project contribute to the Programme objectives: How does your project strengthen bilateral relations with the Donor states? How does your project contribute to the Programme outcome indicators and priorities? Our mobility project is built entirely on Czech-Norwegian relations and themes. Department of German, Scandinavian and Netherland Studies concentrates in its programme curricula (3 years bachelor and 2 years master programmes) on bilateral relations with Norway in history items, literature context and democracy traditions in the society as well as the actual debate on contemporary problems. Our students and graduates are equipped with the competencies as translators, interpreters, diplomats, editors, journalists and cultural mediators. The mobility to Norway and from Norway contributes to networking, direct meeting with the society in the donor and benefit state support professional contacts in the international understanding and cooperation. Our students can in this way get also expert mentoring for their bachelor and master diploma thesis. The priority for our project is to contribute to self-assurance of young intellectuals of both sexes, as well as to long-time advancement of human sources in our country. Mgr. Kristyna Troneckova, Department of Psychology, Faculty of Arts, Masaryk University: Thanks to the collaboration with Dr Lugo from the Institute for Psychology, INN University, we can deepen the bilateral relations between the home and host University. Thus, his role as a supervisor and their joint research paper are crucial for this collaboration. Moreover, her research for the dissertation is a base for teaching and enhancing Psychology of Religion at the Faculty of Arts, Masaryk University. She wishes to immerse students into this field by my own experience and findings. In this research, the Norwegian population is a great pillar. Also, she can contribute to INN University by giving lectures about her research area and thus, sharing better awareness about positive psychology and Masaryk University. Furthermore, she is planning to include a special group of Norwegian respondents – immigrants to the research for a greater spectrum of elderly Norwegian inhabitants. Immigrants should live at least 5 years in the country. Therefore, she will focus on common denominators and differences between the native and supposedly disadvantaged group of respondents. C.3 Please describe the tasks and responsibilities of each partner. What procedures/control mechanism will you implement to ensure smooth cooperation and communication between partners during its preparation and implementation: C.3.1 administrative arrangements, communication, distribution the EEA grant among partners 22 Each partner has own responsibility for the selection procedure of the participating students and the participating staff. The evaluation of the project realisation and outcomes will be carried out in the congruence with the cooperation partner institutions according to the points in this application frame and Letter of Intent. The main responsibility in the evaluation process has the Department of German, Scandinavian and Netherland Studies (MU) 24 Masaryk University has already cooperated with the University in Agder and the Oslo Jewish Museum. We have concrete plans to continue institutional cooperation with these and other institutions in Norway in the period after this mobility project (e. g. doctor study level cotutelle - common responsibility with University in Agder). Also the cooperation on the bilateral basis Erasmus Pluss will continue. Mgr. Kristyna Troneckova, Department of Psychology, Faculty of Arts, Masaryk University: For this mobility and research work, it is crucial to contribute to the understanding of phenomena that can lead to greater seniors' satisfaction. Therefore, her dissertation will help to develop this area of psychology. She wants to publish scientific articles about the research to spread the results worldwide. She intends to participate in international conferences, and she wants to highlight and share the differences and connections in the approach to happiness and spirituality across the nations. Furthermore, she intends to explore the connections between two measurements of happiness: Gross National Happiness (GNH) and World Happiness Report. She wants to use the Bhutanese measurement of GNH for the Norwegians. This exploration will be beyond her dissertation. She intends to write an article about the findings and deal with it in the future with Dr Ricardo Lugo. For this mobility, the main outcome is to improve teaching methods and content of the course Psychology of Religion at Masaryk University. D. Project target groups D.1 What target groups do you address in your project? Please identify the needs of the target groups and describe how the target groups will benefit from your project. Mgr. Kristyna Troneckova, Department of Psychology, Faculty of Arts, Masaryk University: Her main goal is to improve teaching methods and content of the course Psychology of Religion at Masaryk University. She can contribute to this course with new multicultural outcomes and teach students the real-life experience and findings of spirituality and well-being. The target group are students attending the mentioned course. The need for this group is to better understand all the aspects of spirituality and well-being in a multicultural environment. Thanks to this mobility, she wants to provide lecturers to Norwegian students about the current outcomes from the research, its connections and background. She can also help the supervisor Dr Ricardo Lugo with the preparation of his classes. Norwegian students will benefit from a different view of well-being and spirituality in a multicultural context. Moreover, Norwegian and Czech students can compare the findings from the World Happiness Report with Gross National Happiness which will lead to more discussions about the topic. 25 D.2 Which learning outcomes (i.e. knowledge, skills, competences and attitudes/behaviours) are to be acquired/improved by participants in mobility activities. ECTS A common arrangement for Norwegian and Czech students: NOI_230 Project Workshop Knowledge about democracy traditions in Norway in history and present Competencies and attitudes to obtain are a/ to communicate with colleagues in the partner-country on the project topics b/ to communicate with media in own country on the relevant thematic problems c/ to communicate with a witness´ in form of an interview d/ to communicate in written texts in form of doctor, master and bachelor theses and seminar papers Mgr. Thanks to this mobility and research, her main goal is to improve teaching methods and content of the course named Psychology of Religion at the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Arts, Masaryk University. She can contribute to this course with new multicultural outcomes and teach students the real-life experience and findings which she can extensively increase thanks to the research and the possibility of the EEA Grants. She wants to provide lecturers to local students about the current outcomes from this research, its connections and background. She will help the supervisor Dr Ricardo Lugo with the preparation of his classes and teach the students. It will help her to gain more international experience with teaching and improve my current knowledge. She intends to deal with her dissertation from Psychology which is aimed at the connections between the different types of spirituality and the well-being of the elderly in the multicultural context. Due to above-mentioned facts, she has chosen two of these countries as main pillars for her research and thus, for her whole dissertation. She intends to describe the essence of happiness and the connection with spirituality among Bhutanese and Norwegian elderly people. In Bhutan, she already did its part of the research. In Norway, she just had an opportunity to do preliminary research. Now, she wants to continue and deepen her research there. Apart from the main pillars including Norwegians and Bhutanese, she intends to include other chosen nationalities, such as Czechs 40 and Israelis, to the research for better understanding of examined factors widely. It is supposed to be a complementary part of the dissertation with a smaller sample from each nation. The research is mainly based on semi-structured interviews and the use of interpretative phenomenological analysis (IPA) serving as a tool for evaluating given interviews. Thanks to the IPA, it is possible to look for common denominators and differences of the studied ethnicity. IPA gives rise to several themes and subtopics for each group of respondents. At Inland Norway University, the supervisor is Dr Ricardo Lugo who can give her comments and advice for her dissertation. Her Czech supervisor is Prof. Vladimir Smekal from Masaryk University who is also interested in Norwegian happiness and bilateral cooperation with Dr Ricardo Lugo. Another objective is a joint research paper together with Dr Ricardo Lugo aimed at the impact of nature, spirituality, and health on life satisfaction. Thanks to this collaboration, we can deepen the relationships between the home and host University and especially, Departments of Psychology. This mobility project is an important tool for a well structured and goal-directed international cooperation in the tercial education. The background for this project is the long-time profile and aim plan of Masaryk University in the field of international contacts and cooperation in all study programmes. This mobility project is built up as a bridge between historic topics and today´s questions concerning democracy values, as a bridge between various accesses cross over the disciplines (literature, history, psychology, sociology, art), as a bridge between Norway and the Czech Republic, as a bridge between the individual participants in both countries. The focus is on historical topics, e.g. portraits of Holocaust victims and survivors, portraits of the volunteers connected with the Nansen-aid organisation in the years 1938 - 1940. The central perspective points toward an analysis of "active citizenship" in the mirror of present democracy discourse in Europe. The overall project objectives shall enable the students and other participants profound understanding and adequate realizing of the essential human values such as respect to national and religious minorities in society. The student groups travelling abroad will be followed by experienced teachers and experts, so that the mobility outcomes bring for the students' professional competencies (e.g. communication with media) and to promote the acquired knowledge in the context frame of the Norwegian-Czech mutual cultural exchange relations. Mgr.
