ZD345 TEORIE A METODOLOGIE GEOGRAFICKÉHO
VÝZKUMU
Cíl předmětu
Hlavním cílem kurzu je představení postpozitivistických přístupů, které inspirují většinu
výzkumu v současné humánní geografii. Kurz seznámí s filozofickým ukotvením jednotlivých
přístupů, používanou metodologií, historickými souvislostmi mezi jednotlivými přístupy (a
jejich vazbou k vývoji ve „vnějším“ světě) a konkrétními příklady výzkumu. Studenti získají
hlubší znalost filozofie postpozitivistických směrů, vycházejících přímo z kritiky prostorové
vědy (zvláště behaviorální, humanistická, radikální a marxistická geografie), pozdějších postpozitivistických
směrů (zvl. feministická geografie, teorie strukturace, geografický realismus),
a kulturního obratu a souvisejících přístupů (postmodernismus, poststrukturalismus, postkolonialismus
a další).
Po absolvování kurzu by měl být studen schopen orientovat se v současných směrech a školách
v humánní geografii a snadněji nalézt přístupy vhodné pro svůj výzkumný projekt.

Formát výuky
Úvodní slovo vyučujícího, diskuse nad textem/texty povinné literatury, a prezentace
teoretických východisek a metodologie vlastního výzkumného projektu.
Texty (povinná a doporučená literatura) jsou k dispozici ve složce Studijní materiály na stránce
předmětu v IS.
Předpoklady pro úspěšné ukončení kurzu:
a) Stručná kritická diskuse textů povinné literatury, formou písemné rešerše a subjektivní
reflexe. V diskusi se zaměřte na to, co považujete za hlavní argument/argumenty textu,
a na jeho přínos pro váš vlastní výzkum (např. téma dizertace). Pište kriticky a nebojte
se vyjádřit vlastní názor. Všichni děláme chyby, i slavní autoři. Spíše než o hledání
chyb však snažte poukázat na určitá opomenutí, např. jiných možných perspektiv či
kontextů. Nebo poukázat na nosné myšlenky, které vám připadají nové či inspirativní.
Rozsah: ca jedna strana ke každému textu povinné literatury (300 – 700 slov). Současně
ke každému textu připravte jednu otázku (větu s otazníkem) pro diskusi v semináři.
Termín: vložit do příslušné odevzdávány nejpozději 48 hodin před seminářem.
b) Prezentace cíle vlastního výzkumného projektu (typicky výzkumu vedoucího
k dizertaci), zaměřená na diskusi zdůvodnění zvolených teoretických přístupů a
metodologie (proč právě tento/tyto teoretické perspektivy? Proč právě tyto a ne jiné
metody?). Formát: esej v rozsahu 800 až 1500 slov, plus ústní prezentace v semináři
v rozsahu 10 min. Esej vložte do příslušné odevzdávárny do 48 hodin před příslušným
seminářem. Ústní prezentaci doporučuji bez využití ICT techniky (Powerpoint apod.),
ale záleží na vašem uvážení.
