The International Perspectives of Media Studies Experts
We are pleased to invite you to the course The International Perspectives of Media Studies Experts. Its purpose is to offer a platform to international cutting-edge experts in various fields related to media studies.


For fall 2022, we will present you with at least three experts in journalism, media studies, or contextual fields. The dates of the lectures will be announced at the beginning of the semester.

To pass the class, you must attend the class as mandatory attendance is checked.

Maxim Soljus was long-time deputy editor-in-chief of Vedomosti, a unique business and media project created in Russia in 1999 jointly by The Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, and Derk Sauer's Independent Media. Now Maxim is an editor if iStories media project. The lecture is a part of TMT Lecture Series, a common project of The Moscow Times and leading European universities. As part of this series, the best Russian journalists who have been forced to leave Russia because of political risks give lectures in universities and talk about their experiences and what is happening in Russia and what could happen.

Patricia Aufderheide is University Professor of Communication Studies in the School of Communication at American University in Washington, D.C. She founded the School's Center for Media & Social Impact, where she continues as Senior Research Fellow. She is also affiliate faculty in the School of International Service and the History department at American University, and a member of the Film and Media Arts division in the School of Communication.
