Interpretative phenomenological analysis

Students will get familiarized with the concept, principles, background and usage of the IPA research method. Lectures will be complemented by hands-on approach in the seminars that will focus on the application of the method in all its research phases.

The course should allow graduates to use IPA in their own project. 

They should be able to: 

- Understand the background of IPA in philosophy 
- Be able to compare IPA with other qualitative approaches
- Determine which research projects IPA is and is not suitable for
- Be familiar with the limitations of IPA research
- Know how to collect and handle data for an IPA research
- Apply all IPA steps to the data
- Generate research results using IPA

Assessment methods: 
- sufficient attendance
- submitting a written report from the trial research performed during the course
