• 1.What is the “Ph.D. Individual Study Plan and its evaluation” application for?

The “Ph.D. Individual Study Plan and its evaluation” (ISP) application is used for the overall evaluation of a doctoral student by their supervisor. An approved ISP serves as an “agreement” between the student, their supervisor, and the doctoral committee. The ISP is binding for all doctoral students at MU, and fulfilling it is mandatory.

Students can access the application via:

A completed ISP application typically includes

    • the overall study plan approved by the supervisor and the doctoral committee,,
    • a breakdown of each semester and its approval by the supervisor,
    • the student’s feedback for each semester,
    • the supervisor’s evaluation for each semester,
    • at least one evaluation per year by the doctoral committee,
    • an overview of courses taken, publication activity, internships, and study visits.
  • 2.How do I fill in my Individual Study Plan for Doctoral Studies?

The ISP is prepared in agreement with the student’s supervisor. It contains the plan of study, which must first be approved by the supervisor and subsequently by the doctoral committee. The ISP is binding for doctoral students at MU, and fulfilling it is mandatory. It is only modified in exceptional cases (e.g., a change in research focus, funding, or similar circumstances).

    Students complete their ISP via:

1 The Individual Study Plan section.

2 Link to the form for filling out an individual study plan.

    Note

The ISP is filled in by the doctoral student (in agreement or collaboration with the supervisor) and must be approved by both the supervisor and the doctoral committee no later than the end of the second semester. Until the supervisor approves it, the student can freely edit the plan. Any changes during the course of study are only made in exceptional cases (e.g., changes to the dissertation project or topic, major changes in funding, or adjustments to arrangements with the supervisor) and must again be approved by the supervisor and the doctoral committee. All other, less significant deviations are recorded by the student in the Semester Evaluation section.

  • 3.How do I fill in the Term Evaluation in the ISP?

In the Term Evaluation section of the Doctoral Studies Individual Study Plan (ISP), students provide a detailed overview of their activities during the semester (e.g., progress on publications or articles) and outline their plans for the upcoming semester (e.g., conferences they plan to attend). Once submitted, the evaluation is sent to the supervisor, who reviews it, provides their own evaluation, and approves the student’s progression to the next semester.

Students can complete their semester evaluation in the application:

1 Form for evaluating the completed term.

2 Form for planning the next term.

3 Saving and submitting the evaluation sends it to the supervisor for comments.

Tip: Is the correct semester displayed at the top of the page?

If students do not see the button to submit their semester evaluation, they should check whether the correct semester is selected at the top of the page.

1 Term for which the evaluation is being completed.

1 Content submitted by the student as “Evaluation of the completed term,” sent to the supervisor.

2 Supervisor’s evaluation of the student’s performance for the past term.

3 Information on whether approval has been granted to proceed to the next semester.

  • 4.How can I upload documents to fulfill ISP obligations in my doctoral studies?

The Documents section is used for uploading materials related to the Individual Study Plan for Doctoral Studies (ISP). Students can upload items such as TAC meeting reports, posters, presentations, reviews, and other relevant documents. Documents can be uploaded via:

The Information System Student End of Term Doctoral Studies Individual Study Plan Dokuments

1 The link to upload a document for fulfilling ISP obligations leads to the Document Office module, where students can upload their file.

1 Students can easily upload a file from their computer.

2 It is recommended to name the file clearly so the supervisor knows what it is.

3 After saving, the document will also appear in the Doctoral Studies Individual Study Plan application under the Documents section.

Tip: Who can see documents uploaded to fulfill ISP obligations in doctoral studies?

Documents uploaded by the student remain accessible throughout the entire doctoral program and are visible to the supervisor and the doctoral committee. If a document needs to be removed, the student should contact the doctoral studies office.

Tip: What file formats can be uploaded?

Students should upload documents in common formats such as PDF, DOC, or DOCX.

  • 5.Where can I track my progress in my doctoral studies?

In a doctoral program, several key obligations are set. Once a student fulfills one of these obligations, their supervisor or the doctoral committee confirms its completion in the Key Obligations section. The student can then view their progress and see the number of completed key obligations in the application:
