The aim of the study programme is to master theoretical and practical knowledge and skills in the field of pedagogical, psychological, medical-biological and kinanthropological disciplines. The study programme itself develops appropriate pedagogical, communication and professional skills in the graduates.

Graduates will also be able to prepare, implement and evaluate physical and sports programmes for different population groups. Their readiness is guaranteed by kinanthropological, bio-medical and social-theoretical expertise focused on human motor skills and healthy lifestyle support. Their education corresponds with the education of analogous professionals in the EU, and together with appropriate language skills enables them to hold similar posts anywhere abroad.

After successfully completing his/her studies the graduate is able to:

  • apply the theoretical knowledge of social science in pedagogical practice
  • use pedagogical and didactical knowledge of teacher's work as well as acquiring the ability to analyse and assess the PE process and to work in school management;
  • use the didactics of PE and particular sports
  • apply the knowledge of sports training in practice
  • use practical skills for diagnosing motion abilities and for mathematical–statistical data processing

Graduates of the Master's programme Teacher Training of Physical Education for primary and secondary schools are fully qualified physical education teachers at primary and secondary schools and are able to educate physically active people with the appropriate physical and health aptitude.

Sports Education graduates are able to prepare, implement, and evaluate physical and sports programmes for different population groups.

Strength and Conditioning Coach graduates are prepared to work as Strength and Conditioning Coaches within individual and team sports, recreational sports, and as Youth Strength and Conditioning Coaches.

The standard duration of the study is 4 semesters. To be able to take the final state examination, students must obtain a total of 120 credits in required and selective and elective subjects. All students are obliged to pass an examination in English.

Students should follow the study template assigned at the beginning of their studies in the MU Information System.

The Master's degree in physical education teaching contains several types of reflected teaching practice.

Introduction to teaching practice (1 week) is focused on familiarization with the environment of the school, teachers and didactic activities to gain experience of the pedagogical reality.

The goal of Teaching Practice I (3 weeks) and II (two weeks) is to become familiar with primary and secondary schools or administrative practice, deepening their capability to analyse and evaluate the physical education process.

Under the guidance of mentor teachers students prepare and implement various types of lessons and verify and reflect on their pedagogical competence in practice.

The studies are completed by the Master's thesis defence and the final state examination, which includes Pedagogy and Psychology for Teachers, Physical Education Didactics and in the single-subject study either Current Problems of Sport Education (direction Sport Education) or Theory of Strength and Conditioning Coaching (for the programme Strength and Conditioning Coach).

After completion of the Master's degree students can continue with doctoral studies in Kinanthropology.
