Students can learn more about the professional activities of specialized or socio-educational institutions, thereby gaining greater insight into the education of pupils with special educational needs than is usual in teaching practice in mainstream schools, and this helps in deciding on their own professional profiling. Students acquire specific skills to support educational goals, especially in the areas of communication, supporting cooperation, self-presentation, creativity, teaching improvisation, etc. The course content also serves to expand and link awareness about the possibilities of alternative approaches in education.

Teaching practice should be undertaken four times during the period of studies: twice in a variety of special and socio-educational facilities, and twice in mainstream schools.
