The Master's degree in Applied Kinesiology is aimed at graduates of the Bachelor's degree programme Physical Education and Sport, the field of study Regeneration and Nutrition in Sport (RVS) and other related fields. The two-year Master's degree programme aims to prepare qualified professionals to give advice on a healthy lifestyle, with a focus on secondary and tertiary prevention of lifestyle diseases over the entire age spectrum of the population. The purpose behind the two-year Master's programme is the ability to succeed in the labour market in developing physical intervention programmes focusing not only on the general population and performance athletes, but also on people with special needs. Graduates should be able to apply the acquired knowledge and skills in research as well.

After successfully completing his/her studies the graduate is able to:

  • apply modern technology in the field of kinesiology in practice
  • diagnose, analyse and develop physical abilities and skills in the general population with regard to age peculiarities and health limitations. Ability to create and implement intervention programmes appropriate for this population (physical, nutritional)
  • diagnose physical abilities and skills, energy and physiological factors affecting performance, to create and implement appropriate regenerative programmes for top (performance) athletes with regard to the specifics of individual sports
  • diagnose physical ability and the level of fitness factors and on this basis to create regenerative programmes for individuals with special needs (public and athletes)
  • communicate with potential clients
  • apply their professional knowledge and skills in the areas of science and research focused on sport and recreational physical activity, occupational therapy and regeneration and prevention of lifestyle diseases

Experts in the field of counselling (individual and group) focused on the creation of motoric, nutritional, psychosocial and physical techniques used in intervention programmes aimed at a healthy lifestyle designed for the general population, people with lifestyle diseases, athletes and individuals with special needs working in the private and the public sectors (fitness, wellness centres, sports clubs, leisure centres, centres for school and extracurricular activities, educational and development centres, spas, and others).

Work in the field of health and safety both in the state and the private sectors (institutes, agencies, etc.).

Experts in the field of work physiology (public health).

Experts in local politics.

Work in public health organizations that are involved in intervention and epidemiological studies of movement, health and nutritional state of the population (appropriate selection and application of diagnostic methods, the ability to process the data, analyse it and draw the necessary conclusions in science and research).

Teachers and instructors in management positions in the areas of physical activities, nutrition, and its significance for the prevention of lifestyle diseases for all population groups.

Work in the field of recreation and leisure activities with a view to the creation and implementation of comprehensive special programmes targeted at health, performance and the age of the client.

Work in social institutions and social services in order to create specific individual and group lessons aimed both in theory and practice at preventative and protective measures with regard to health (Homes for the elderly, youth centres, facilities for individuals with special needs).

Positions in the job market within the EU in accordance with the EOSE regulations (2008).
