Course objectives
The course is dealing with performative turns in humanities from 1960's till today (Austin, Turner, Goffman, Alexander) and in theatre studies (Schechner, Fischer-Lichte). Part of the course is devoted to the cross-over of the art forms from the perspective of performance studies - theatre, visual arts and happenings.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course student will be able to:
- define basic concepts of performativity in theatre studies, culturology, and sociology;
- name main representatives of performative turns and their concepts;
- orientate his/herself in marginal theatre genres.
