- Abstract
- The course focuses on the history of Russia and Eastern Europe from the fall of the tsarist regime to Lenin's death. Part of the course is acquaintance with the origin and rise of the communist movement.
- Learning outcomes
- Gain a basic orientation in the history of Eastern Europe and Russia in the first decades of the twentieth century and at the same time the ability to put these events into a broader context.
- Key topics
- Russia in 18.-19. century, Russia during the reign of the last tsar, the origin and beginnings of the Russian socialist movement, revolution 1905, Russia in the First World War, Lenin's activities in emigration, February revolution, Provisional government, November coup in 1917, war communism, origin CZECH REPUBLIC, civil war, wars for the reunification of former Russian territories, the emergence of III. Internationals and efforts to spread communism outside Russia, the crisis of war communism, the NEP, the emergence of the USSR, stabilization of conditions, Lenin's disease, death and the struggle for his succession.
