Course objectives
The aim of the course is to guide students through the entire process of creating an online course, from preparation, design, implementation to the evaluation of user feedback and presentation of their own work. In order for the design of such a course to be successful, students will supplement their knowledge of didactics with didactic principles of teaching in a digital environment in the context of the latest trends in online education.
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to:
- design goals and learning outcomes of an online course and define the target group;
- design a suitable structure of the online course with regard to its goal;
- follow didactic principles when preparing online courses with regard to their goal;
- include in the online course suitable multimedia components and interactive elements designed by themselves and others in compliance with copyright law;
- search for and appropriately include examples of good practice in the online course;
- describe and apply current trends in the didactics of online education within their own projects;
- design and create a comprehensive set of e-learning activities (a lesson) on a selected topic;
- test their own solutions on the users of the online course and evaluate these findings, along with a proposal for modifications, if necessary in view of the feedback.

Assessment methods
Students will prepare a semester project (70% of the total assessment), the focus of which will be the design of goals and learning outcomes of an online course (and individual parts of the course), definition of the target group, design and creation of a comprehensive set of e-learning activities (a lesson) on a selected topic, where the lesson will include an introductory motivational activity, a study text, at least one multimedia component, a test, a discussion assignment, a task assignment and other optional activities. All of the above is to be carried out in accordance with didactic principles of the preparation of an online course, with regard to copyright and in the context of current trends in online education. The project will also include user comments on the lesson, their evaluation and a proposal for modifications, if necessary. The course will be completed with an oral presentation of the results of these projects (20%) and a final report (10%). It will be mandatory to achieve at least 50% of the assessment for each of these components; therefore, it will not be possible to omit any of these components altogether. To successfully complete the course, it is necessary to obtain at least 70% of the total evaluation.
