Abstract
1. To deepen communicative competence in Russian with a focus on developing spoken and written expression, consolidating linguistic accuracy and expanding vocabulary. 2. Eliminate the manifestations of Czech-Russian interference in grammar, lexis and stylistics through targeted exercises and a confrontational approach. 3. To practise and systematise problematic grammatical phenomena, with emphasis on areas where Russian differs significantly from English. 4. To develop the ability to understand original Russian texts (artistic and professional) and to translate them adequately into English. 5. To deepen knowledge of Russian realities and cultural context, to understand the language in its cultural context and to be able to use it in communication. 6.To promote linguistic reflection and awareness of systemic contexts so that students can independently identify and overcome linguistic difficulties.
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to: -use Russian in spoken and written expression at a level appropriate for an advanced user, with an emphasis on fluency, linguistic correctness and a richer vocabulary, -identify and actively overcome typical manifestations of Czech-Russian interference in grammar, lexis and stylistics, -properly apply acquired grammatical phenomena in oral and written communication, especially in areas where Russian differs significantly from Czech, -work independently with original Russian texts and videos - understand their content, explain linguistic and stylistic peculiarities and make an adequate translation into English, -show knowledge of Russian realities and cultural contexts, interpret them and use them in communication.
