Course objectives
The goal of this course is to get insight into the part of everyday culture and life in Korea through practical examples, lectures of young Koreans and additional explanations with discussion.
Learning outcomes
At the end of this course, a student will have a knowledge of traditional culture in South Korea, regional variations, education system, Korean pop-music and Korean food.

  • 1. Regions of South Korea: Culture, background, and dialect of provinces
  • 2. Education system of Korea: Activities done in Korean schools, education fever
  • 3. K-pop: The history k-pop groups from first to fifth generation, fandom culture, The dark side of the K-pop industry
  • 4. Traditional culture: Holidays, experiencing traditional games
  • 5. Korean food: Introducing korean food, features of Korean food
