Course objectives
Parliamentary law introduces students in basic concepts of organisation of legislative bodies in generally, in their election, electoral systems, position of Members of Parliaments
Syllabus
  • Constitutional law, elections, parliamentarism and the Parliament in the Czech Republic. Free and democratic elections. Functions. Classification. Electoral systems. Plurality, majority and PR. Principles of electoral law. Electoral process. Protection of elections. Mandate of the Members of the Parliament in the Czech Republic. Sources of the Parliamentary law. Parliaments in the different forms of government. Legal status of the Czech Parliament. Bicameralism. Rules for parliamentary activity. Position of Members. Imunity and indemnity. Political organisation of the Czech Parliament.
