Abstract
The course is an introduction to reflecting on value orientation in working with people. Students will be introduced to basic concepts in ethics with particular reference to applied and professional ethics. The course will discuss issues related to the meaning of employment and work in a person's life. Selected aspects of professional ethics (e.g., ethics in health care, ethics in teaching) will also take center stage. Attention will also be given to environmental ethics, professionalism, codes of ethics and practical workplace issues (e.g. alcohol and drugs in the workplace, conflict of loyalty).
