Course objectives

The goal is not acquire an encyclopedic knowledge of classical intellectual traditions, authors and their works, but to show their relevance for how we experience our world today and therefore for contemporary sociology.

Learning outcomes

Cultivation of student's ability to study classical sources with understanding of the historical context in which they originated as well as their relevance for our recent experience and contemporary sociological imagination.
