Abstract
The course will focus on two specific aspects of trends in journalism: 1. how to work as a journalist in a digital environment; and 2. how to use digital tools to reach audiences. This course is predominantly based on the most up-to-date expert knowledge of the topics, i.e. external speakers and workshop leaders with the most up-to-date insight on the topic.
Learning outcomes
The student after completing the course: The student will be able to critically evaluate the limits of journalistic work in the digital age. Gain an overview of the use and application of digital tools in journalistic work. Understand the legal and ethical rules of digital journalism. Gain an understanding of the rules of safety for journalists online. Be able to understand audience behaviour in digital media. Be able to work with targeting information in a digital environment. Gain an understanding of digital safety and literacy rules.

Lectures, seminars, workshops, reading with an emphasis on activity and creative work.
Method of verifying learning outcomes and course completion requirements
The course ends with a colloquium, a discussion of the topics discussed. A condition for passing the colloquium is active participation in seminars and completion of practical tasks according to the assignment.
