- Course objectives
- This workshop prepares the student to work as a journalist in today's newsrooms where the online and digital platforms are at least as important as the traditional print or broadcast platforms. Students gain an overview of multimedia and online journalism. They work on projects in written, audio and video online journalism.

- Structure: Wednesday November 24 9–10.30 (15 min coffee break) and 10.45–12.15 (lunch) Overview of multimedia and online journalism around the world; examples. 13.30–15 (15 min. coffee break) and 15.15–16.45 Journalist blogs; hands-on practice with WordPress.com. Thursday November 25 9–10.30 (15 min coffee break) and 10.45–12.15 (lunch) Online audio stories; examples; how to interview for online audio. 13.30–15 (15 min. coffee break) and 15.15–16.45 Editing digital audio; hands-on practice with Audacity. Friday November 26 9–10.30 (15 min coffee break) and 10.45–12.15 (lunch) Online video stories; examples; how to shoot for online video. 13.30–15 (15 min. coffee break) and 15.15–16.45 Editing digital video; hands-on practice with Windows Movie Maker.
