Course objectives
At the end of this course the student will be able to: find and identify structures that develop during embryogenesis and organogenesis; perform the basic tests of andrological analysis, understand the main practical issues of regenerative and reproductive medicine; dissect mouse and chicken embryos; interpret and present the results from embryology orientated manuscripts.
Learning outcomes
Students should be able:
- find and identify structures that develop during embryogenesis and organogenesis
- perform the basic tests of andrological analysis
- understand the main practical issues of regenerative and reproductive medicine
- dissect mouse and chicken embryos
- interpret and present the results from embryology orientated manuscripts
Syllabus
  • 1. Introduction, study of slides: reproduction, gametogenesis; 2. Methods of andrological analysis – sperm count test, gametes survival, gametes preservation (Sus scrofa forma domestica); 3. Study of slides: pulmonary system, cardiovascular system, gastrointestinal system, urogenital system, axial skeleton, muscular system, integument, immune tissues; 4. Sub/in/fertility, reproductive medicine in praxis (excursions); 5. Dissection of mouse and chicken embryos in order to get acquainted with the specific structures connected with embryonal development; 6. Interpretation and presentation of the results from embryology orientated manuscripts.
