Abstract
Within the course, students take a thematic tour of sites associated with archaeologic, anthropologic and anthropogenetic research, supplemented by expert commentary.

Teacher's information

The spring 2026 semester excursion will take place in the village of Vražné, the birthplace of Gregor Johann Mendel, where we will visit the birthplace of this important scientist. The excursion will take place halfway through the spring semester to ensure warmer weather and good conditions. The excursion will last one day. Students will travel with us by car or make their own way to the destination if they wish. All further details will be provided in the interactive course syllabus during the semester, and students will also be informed by group email.

I would like to inform you in advance that we are planning an excursion to Pompeii and Herculaneum for the spring semester of 2027. In the autumn of 2026, I will send an email to all students with details and gauge interest.
