The course requires a B2 level of English proficiency as students will be expected to engineer detailed prompts and understand some subtle language nuances in AI output.

Cíle předmětu
This course equips students with a critical and practical understanding of generative AI in educational settings. It explores both the strengths and limitations of AI tools, encouraging students to use AI output more thoughtfully, ethically, and effectively in their learning, teaching, and research. Students will gain hands-on experience in prompt engineering, learn how to ‘prime’ AI for different educational roles (e.g. tutor, assessor, research assistant), and evaluate AI responses with a discerning eye. The course also introduces widely accessible AI platforms and their key functionalities to support independent study and collaboration.
Výstupy z učení
Understand the capabilities and limitations of generative AI tools and explain their appropriate use in academic contexts.
Apply effective prompt engineering strategies to elicit helpful, relevant, and ethical AI responses for a variety of academic tasks.
Evaluate AI-generated content critically, identifying issues such as inaccuracy, bias, or unethical use.
Use AI tools to support learning, research, and presentation tasks, including idea generation, summarising, scheduling, and content design.
Demonstrate an understanding of ethical considerations surrounding the use of AI in higher education, including university guidance and global frameworks like UNESCO.
Reflect on their own use of AI tools, identifying strengths, risks, and opportunities for deeper learning and academic integrity.
