Course objectives
The course graduate will be able to theoretically describe various running techniques, biomechanically analyze the running stride, and identify errors in a running process. Furthermore, the student will know the methodology of learning to run, the possibilities of using running as a form of active regeneration and increasing physical fitness in other sports disciplines. The graduate will also master different forms of strength training as a regenerative support tool.
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to:
- theoretically describe different running techniques;
- biomechanically analyze the running stride;
- identify errors in running technique;
- be familiar with the methodology of learning to run;
- possibilities of using running as a form of active regeneration;
- the possibilities of increasing physical fitness in other sports disciplines using running;
- know and know the basics of the technical execution of chosen strength exercises;
- know the basics of strength training as a regeneration tool.

  • 1. Specifications (sprint, endurance, obstacle, running in various conditions).
  • 2. Typical overloads and injuries.
  • 3. Methodology of learning to run.
  • 4. Running as fitness training. Running shoes and their specifics.
  • 5. Running as a form of active regeneration.
  • 6. Practical training in technique and video analysis of running.
  • 7. Obstacle runs.
  • 8. Strength training as a regeneration tool - introduction.
  • 9. Strength training as a regeneration tool - continue.
  • 10. Peer analysis of running technique and recommendations.

Theoretical analysis of lectured topics in the form of presentations and discussions. Practical training in running technique. Analysis of running technique. Practical training in other athletics disciplines. Homeworks. Critical thinking and discussion of scientific and popular science texts.
