Course objectives
Demography (SDDE) The elementary course of demography intends to introduce students to those phenomena and processes which are related to the reproduction of population; these are both, the phenomena and processes connected with the natural reproduction of population and spatial movement of population, i.e. migration. Population represents one of the most significant economic categories. Understanding and studying it through demographic indicators and demographic analysis is a very important prerequisite for effective work in economics. Examination: written test, oral exam

  • 3. Population structure analysis.
  • 4 - 5. Mortality and morbidity.
  • 6. Marriages and divorces.
  • 7. Fertility and natality.
  • 8. Natural reproduction characteristics.
  • 9. Population presumption and projection.
  • 10. Population evolution of the world, regions and states.
  • 11 - 12. The role of the Czech Republic in world demographic evolution.
  • 13. Population theory and policy.
  • 14. Contemporary population trends in the Czech Republic.
