Abstract
The aim of the course is to:
• Provide the student with the possibility of a professional discussion of his dissertation research findings
• Develop the student's ability to present and defend the findings of his dissertation research or the initial results of his scientific work.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, a student will be able to:
• formulate and present new research topics and questions in the field of interest in economics, finance and management
• prepare an understandable scientifical presentation
• present research findings to the scientific and wider professional community
• present a paper at a professional seminar or conference
• communicate the results of his/her scientific work in the professional community
Key topics
  • Research workshop means:
  • a) A presentation at a seminar attended by employees of the supervising department, the faculty, and (possibly) guests, organized internally at the faculty in order to critically evaluate students’ dissertation research findings.
  • b) A presentation at an important and thematically relevant research conference or at a summer school.

Approaches, practices, and methods used in teaching
It is a course without direct teaching, consisting of independent work of the student realized under the guidance of a supervisor. Methods used:
• individual consultations, guidance of the student and control of his/her progress by the supervisor • professional consultations within the framework of conferences, summer schools, internships, etc.
Method of verifying learning outcomes and course completion requirements
A student is obliged to submit a presentation no later than 14 days before the seminar, in electronic form into the "Homework Vault" application in the IS MU, where the material is accessible for review by a supervisor and a Doctoral Board.
The credit is awarded by the student's supervisor only on condition that the text has been placed in the "Homework Vault" on the basis of:
• assessment of the text of the presentation
• quality of its presentation and defense at the seminar
