Course objectives
At the end of this course the student will be able to: 1. calculate in binary system, convert between systems, write data in different types of codes, explain the principles of data encoding and encryption; 2. be able to describe models, diagrams and graphs in the field of informatics and beyond; 3. explain and describe the function of individual computer components incl. memories, buses and peripherals; 4. explain the principles of computer networks, security and virus protection; 5. independently perform an explanation in the field of ICT and explain the principles of computer operation
Learning outcomes

  • 1. Number systems and logic functions 2. Coding and types of codes 3. Encryption 4. Models, graphs and diagrams 5. Development and classification of computer architectures, processors and work with instructions 6. Computer memory architecture and data storage 7. Motherboard and internal HW of computers 8. Peripherals and external buses 9. Introduction to the principles of computer networks 10. Malware, anti-virus protection and child safety on the Internet.
