Course objectives
The aim of the course is: development of the ability to mediate reproductive and productive skills, mediation and interaction in school German language teaching, to analyse textbooks and other teaching materials, gaining knowledge of current approaches to teaching cultural content, developing the ability to create own teaching materials, of self-reflection and reflection on teaching practice and of didactical thinking.
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course, learners are able to:
• identify and summarize the principles of the current approach to foreign language teaching;
• apply the acquired didactic knowledge to teaching practice; • plan foreign language teaching;
• analyze and create teaching materials;
• reflect on teaching practice and own pedagogical practice

  • Listening comprehension (psycholinguistic fundamentals, task typology, materials)
    Reading comprehension (reading competence - literacy, task types)
    Literary texts in the foreign language teaching and learning
    Speech (speech acts, communicative situation, task types)
    Writing (writing didactics, literacy, text types, types of tasks, creative writing)

Náhradní absolvování
Students on a study abroad program will have their ISP (Individual Study Plan) recognized, and they will be allowed to fulfill the requirements (after agreement with the instructors at the beginning of each semester) through distance learning. Possible recognition of the course (for a course at the host university) should be discussed with the lecturer before the start of the semester.
