Course objectives
The course deals with the use of the literary text in the teaching of the French language to develop the pupils' communication competence. The theoretical part deals with the problems of reading in foreign language, the position of literature and literary text in the teaching of foreign languages and factors influencing the understanding of the foreign language text. In the practical part, various activities are presented based on selected examples of literary texts.
Learning outcomes
At the end of this course, students can define reading language issues, enumerate francophone literature for elementary school pupils, work with read-comprehension, choose a reading strategy to meet a pre-given task of reading with comprehension, prepare activity to read with understanding for different linguistic levels of pupils, to apply their knowledge and skills in practice.
