Course objectives
The aim of the course is to introduce learners to the concept of learning strategies with regard to learning and teaching foreign languages, which is anchored in the context of autonomous learning. It develops reflection on one's own learning, the ability to apply the concept of learning strategies to teaching and to identify these strategies in the construction of tasks in German language textbooks.
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course, learners will be able to:
• describe the main features of the concept of autonomous learning;
• describe the concept of strategies for learning a foreign language;
• write an essay on their own way of learning a foreign language (self-reflection);
• identify the importance of learning strategies for successful foreign language learning;
• analyse learning materials in terms of learning strategies;
• apply the knowledge gained in teaching practice.

Náhradní absolvování
Students on a study abroad program will have their ISP (Individual Study Plan) recognized, and they will be allowed to fulfill the requirements (after agreement with the instructors at the beginning of each semester) through distance learning. Possible recognition of the course (for a course at the host university) should be discussed with the lecturer before the start of the semester.
