Course objectives
The objective of this subject is to indroduce students basic data sources for analysis and evaluation of tourism development. Students will also learn the principles of designing the research project and the methods of research. Attention is also paid to interpretative tools.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course students should be able to:
- identify and find the necessary data for research,
- evaluate the quality of data sources,
- to design the structure and procedures of the research project,
- to evaluate and apply appropriate methods of research on the chosen phenomenon of tourism,
- to interpret achived results.

Teaching methods
Lessons take form of lectures and seminars in particular. The output is the presentation of the research project proposal and the results of the application of the selected method. Seminar and lectures preparation consist in reading selected papers and studies.
Assessment methods
The evaluation consists of verifying the student's practical skills (based on the presentation of the project - i.e. the ability of argumentation, 60 % of grade), and testing his theoretical knowledge (written test 40 % of grade).
