Course objectives
The course English of Finance and Accounting extends the English training provided in the 4-semester compulsory course Language I, which is focused on the language of business and economics. The specialized language course English of Finance and Accounting deals in detail with terms, language structures and functions related to finance and accounting. It acquaints students with the English financial and accounting terminology and introduces the basic documents used by businesses and authorities in the connection with financial matters and accounting. An insight into the areas of finance and accounting helps to teach the relevant vocabulary and grammatical constructions. The course covers the terminology of the chart of accounts and key financial statements, money and capital, shares, bonds and other financial instruments, interest rates and credit, as well as the specific terminology of banking and insurance.
