Course objectives
The main goal of this course is to provide basic knowledge in Physical therapy and its usage in prevention, examination and therapy of musculoskeletal and nervous system influencing all parts of human existence as a part of comprehensive rehabilitation.
It´s important to meet a student with general principles of individual physical therapy parts, physiological or patophysiological organism response on their application and with possibilities of electrotherapy and combined therapy.
This theoretical course goes hand in hand with practical course Physical therapy in practice IV.
Syllabus
  • Physical therapy position in the field of Physiotherapy (premedication). Combined therapy (general principles, therapeutical effects, methodology of application, contra/indications).
  • Elektrodiagnostic tests – history, general principles, electrods types, ways and techniques of application, polarity, intensity.
  • Elektrodiagnostic tests – creation of Hoorweg-Weiss´s curve and its physiological and patophysiological process, choice of area for selective stimulation.
  • Elektrostimulation and its specifics, monopolar and bipolar application, advantages and disadvantages, frequency and time of procedure.
  • Myostimulation and myofeedback (history, general principles, electrods types, intensity).
  • Myostimulation (ways and techniques of application, polarity, intensity, contra/indications).
  • Main groups of Diagnosis and ways of their treatment (therapeutic balance sheet at traumas in acute and subacute condition, in a chronic state, at functional disorders, at damage to the epidermis, during influence of spasticity).
  • Procedures combinations with regard to an individual effects of Physical therapy.

The main goal of this course is to provide basic knowledge in Physical therapy and its usage in prevention, examination and therapy of musculoskeletal and nervous system influencing all parts of human existence as a part of comprehensive rehabilitation.
It´s important to meet a student with general principles of individual physical therapy parts, physiological or patophysiological organism response on their application and with possibilities of electrotherapy and combined therapy.
This theoretical course goes hand in hand with practical course Physical therapy in practice IV.
Syllabus
  • Physical therapy position in the field of Physiotherapy (premedication). Combined therapy (general principles, therapeutical effects, methodology of application, contra/indications).
  • Elektrodiagnostic tests – history, general principles, electrods types, ways and techniques of application, polarity, intensity.
  • Elektrodiagnostic tests – creation of Hoorweg-Weiss´s curve and its physiological and patophysiological process, choice of area for selective stimulation.
  • Elektrostimulation and its specifics, monopolar and bipolar application, advantages and disadvantages, frequency and time of procedure.
  • Myostimulation and myofeedback (history, general principles, electrods types, intensity).
  • Myostimulation (ways and techniques of application, polarity, intensity, contra/indications).
  • Main groups of Diagnosis and ways of their treatment (therapeutic balance sheet at traumas in acute and subacute condition, in a chronic state, at functional disorders, at damage to the epidermis, during influence of spasticity).
  • Procedures combinations with regard to an individual effects of Physical therapy.
