This practical course goes hand in hand with theoretical course Physical therapy IV.
Syllabus
  • Revision of electrotherapy procedures application. Choice of procedures with regard to particular effect (assignment treatments to each effect).
  • Combined therapy – ultrasound and TENS or interferential current. CV mode. Principles, effects, an individual positioning, intensity, current density, time and frequency of procedure.
  • Elektrodiagnostika (zjištění dráždivosti elektrod, vyhledání motorického bodu svalu a nervu).
  • Electrodiagnostic testing (Hoorweig-Weiss curve, accommodation quotient, parameters for electrical muscle stimulation).
  • Electrical muscle stimulation (principles, effects, an individual positioning, intensity, time and frequency of procedure).
  • Myostimulation and myofeedback (principles, effects, an individual positioning, intensity, current density, time and frequency of procedure). Comparison of Farad´s, Neofarad´s and interferential currents subjective feelings.

Course objectives
The main goal of this subject is to provide practical skills in electrotherapy especially focused on more difficult electrotherapy procedures manual application.
At the end of the course students be able to understand importance of Phytsical therapy and its position in short-term rehabilitation plan. They should be able to make reasoned decisions about indications and contraindications of mechanotherapy, thermotherapy, hydrotherapy, fototherapy and electrotherapy procedures, goal of therapy and its best realization.
  • Practie at different workplaces with the operation of physical therapy for forteen hours.
