Course objectives
The aim of the subject, which is part of the medical course of the Recovery Healthcare Practitioner, is to teach first aid participants both in practical and theoretical levels.
Learning outcomes
Participant:
- Defines the principles of accident prevention and first aid on a theoretical level.
- Practically demonstrates the practice of cardiopulmonary resuscitation, blocking massive bleeding, positioning of the affected person and transport, working with dressing material, ensuring safety and recognizing the causes of injury, illness and their aftercare.
Syllabus
  • The theoretical part:
  • - Prevention of injuries and types of medical care, sorting
  • - First aid: emergency numbers, life-saving actions and other serious injuries, etc.
  • Practical part:
  • - CPR training
  • - Positioning and transport
  • - Work with dressing material, etc.

Teaching methods
Emphasis will be put on practicing first aid, eg using simulated situations.
Assessment methods
The course ends with a final exam consisting of a written test, oral and practical exam. After completing the course and successfully passing the final exam, the participant will receive the certificate of the Recovery Healthcare Practitioner.
