Course objectives
The aim of this course is to increase the knowledge about current research in Kinesiology and teach the students how to write a comprehensive systematic review in this field. At the end of this course, students will be able to define their research topic and design the methods of a systematic review.
Learning outcomes
Students are expected to work step-by-step on one chosen review’ topic to gain experience with all the aspects of systematic review writing. The completion of the systematic review would be encouraged and will require students’ effort on regular home works.

  • 01) Introduction of systematic review methodology according PRISMA guidelines
  • 02) Choosing systematic review project topics, presenting PI/ECO criteria and key words selection
  • 03) Students’ presentation of a chosen published systematic review article and critical assessment of its methodology
  • 04) Introducing the software Rayyan
  • 05) Databases search
  • 06) Steps of pilot selection. Articles selection (the title and abstract search) in the software Rayyan, applying inclusion/exclusion criteria
  • 07) Flow chart diagrams
  • 08) Data extraction
  • 09) Exporting and presenting results
  • 10) Creating figures and tables, supplementary materials
  • 11) Quality assessment of included articles
