Course objectives
The aim of the internship is to introduce students to the characteristics and organizational, social and legal aspects of running an educational-psychological facility. While working with children, students also get practical experience with counseling and psychological assessment.
Learning outcomes
After taking this course students will be able:
- to relate their practical experiences with theoretical knowledge from previous courses
- to reflect on the practical limitations that preacticing psychologist encounter and on the ways they use to deal with them
- to reflect og their experiences and discuss them in a career discussion.

Teaching methods
The course is implemented in the form of an intership in a school counseling facility (i.e., pedagogical-psychological counseling center or a special pedagogical center), at a school counseling workplace (i.e., at school), in an educational care center, or at a diagnostic institute. Upon agreement, it is possible to complete the internship at another suitable facility. The internship at the selected facility must always be led by a psychologist.
Assessment methods
To receive the credits, it is necessary to submit the following two documents to the Study materials: 1) a confirmation of completion of the internship; 2) a report about the internship. Documents will be available for download in the course's study materials at the beginning of the semester. It is also necessary to participate in the final meeting, where the evaluation of students' intership will take place. Students arrange the dates of the final meetings individually with the lecturer.

Teacher's information
The course is intended for students of the master's program in psychology. Students choose the facility according to their interests. Students can arrange the internship themselves or choose from a range of contracted facilities. If they arrange the internship themselves, they must inform the guarantor of the course in advance. The standard length of the intership is five days.
