Course objectives
With the basic theoretical knowledge acquired from introductory courses of psychology we will attempt to reflect some key concepts, constructs, dimensions and methods, which personality psychology offers for getting to know oneself and others.
Our approach will not be primarily theoretical, but rather empirical. We will try to look at certain dimensions, methods, and modes of personality description from the perspective based on our own experience with a personality that is the most closest to us – with our own person. This personality we will examine and subject to experiments.

The purpose of the course is questing for answers to the following questions:

What are the possible ways of knowing certain personality traits, motives, dimensions, or characteristics? What are the limits of postulating and knowing such traits, motives, dimensions, or characteristics?

What are the possible benefits of particular methods for practical life of a person, or for professional life of a psychologist from different domains?

Furthermore, with the aid of methods, which we will deal with and try on ourselves, the students will be able to consider the functions of concrete identified traits, motives, dimensions, or characteristics in their personality and life. Thanks to that, students will be able to understand themselves better, their strengths and weaknesses.
