Course objectives
Students should be able to understand the specific character of the security and strategic studies and to acquire their basic scienttific standards, terminology, approaches and history of the field.

  • 1. Introduction into the study of this course. 2. Security and strategic studies as a scientific disciplines; 3. Main directories and fields of the research of the SSS 4. Bordering disciplines with the SSS 5. Basic conditions of the university studyof the SSS 6. Basic conditions of the scientific activity and publication in the SSS 7. Basic use of scientific knowledge in the SSS 8. Security and reference objects 9. Interest, threat and risk 10. Conflict, crisis, war, peace 11. Strategy and tactic 12. Security policy

Assessment methods
Each week: lectures, class discussions. Students will receive a final letter grade (A-F) for the semester based on the following components: 2/3 – Written exam 1/3 - Seminary thesis 56-60: A 51-55: B 46-50: C 41-45: D 36-40: E 35-0: F.
