Course objectives
The aim of the course is to present the assigned issue at a regular meeting of doctoral students of the corresponding specialty with supervisors or other invited experts that takes place at the end of the semester. It will be either about presentation of results of the dissertation thesis of the postgraduate student (especially a discussion to the topic of his/her dissertation thesis and its progress), or about presentation of a specific legal historical issue followed by a discussion about it.
Learning outcomes
- To look up and examine current legal historical topics by using scientific methods;
- to evaluate in a timely manner some later legal regulations, including the applicable law, whilst using the knowledge about development of legal institutions;
- to organize and write down the collected data, interpret the results achieved, present the findings and defend them in relevant forum;
- to deepen continually the student’s knowledge of the discipline.
Syllabus
  • Discussion over the dissertation thesis of the postgraduate student;
  • Discussion over a specific topic of history of law or Roman law.

Teaching methods
As a teaching method, there is an individual study of assigned expert literature and eventually individual expert consultations with lecturers.
Assessment methods
Colloquium will be granted for presenting an assigned contribution and active attendance at a discussion.
