Course objectives
The aim of this subject is to map legal regulation concerning prevention and liability in the field of environmental law and jurisprudence, to analyze legal regulation and its application on individual law cases. The subject is primarily aimed at students of Administrative and Environmental Law specializing in environmental law as mandatory. The content of the subject is focused on problems in prevention and liability for illegal behavior not only in general level, but on specific regulatory requirements in individual legal regimes and in individual forms (private and public) of liability as well as in specific environmental liability (ecological damage liability).
Learning outcomes
The outcome of this subject is the ability to analyze problematic cases in the field of environmental law, to analyze legal regulation, to apply adequate rules to individual cases, to get orientation in judicature and the ability to apply it and to present the results of the research in the collective.
Syllabus
  • Prevention in environmental law (its significance and legal instruments). Prevention of significant industrial accidents. Integrated rescue system and environmental protection. Integrated permitting procedure. The system of legal liability in environmental law. Analysis of individual forms of liability and their inter-relations. Old environmental damages.

Teaching methods
Consultations, self-study, reading assignments, class discussion.
Assessment methods
Colloqium. Student will elaborate a seminar thesis (10 - 12 pages in written) which must be uploaded to the information system at least 3 days before colloqium. The individual topic must relate to the subject. The student must be able to defend his seminar thesis in collective discussion. When all the conditions are fulfilled, the student will get credits.
