Course objectives
The aim of this course is to provide for practical understanding of most relevant concepts of EU law related to the use of ICT.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course, students should be able to understand and apply the following regulatory concepts of the EU law:
- internet jurisdiction
- electronic documents
- domain names
- intellectual property on-line (incl. legal protection of software)
- cybercrime and cybersecurity

  • Introduction to cyberlaw and ICT law
  • Applicability of law on the internet - collision questions
  • Responsibility of information intermediaries
  • Electronic documents and electronic contracting
  • Domain names and domain disputes
  • Concept of on-line intellectual property and legal regime of open licences
  • Legal protection of software
  • Privacy and personal data on the internet
  • Cybercrime
  • Conclusions, assessment of assignments
