- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the basics of general and special epidemiology focusing on the risks of transmission of food infections. An attention is paid especially to food intoxication, specific and nonspecific alimentary diseases including parasitic etiology. A separate part is the issue of hospital hygiene and related legislation.
- Learning outcomes
- At the end of the course the students will be able to understand and explain the process of spread of the infection and factors influencing transmission of infections.
Students will be able to use information about the current epidemiological situation.
Students will be able to create repressive anti-epidemic measures to provide outbreaks.
A graduate of the field is able to make reasoned decisions in the cumulative incidence of known infectious diseases. - Syllabus

- The basic knowlegde of epidemiology - understanding the epidemiological metodology (descriptive, analytic, experimental epidemiology).
- Epidemic process; etiology and risk factors of epidemic diseases.
- Form of sources of infection.
- Contagiosity in particular stage of the disease.
- Cariership of patogenic microorganisms. Animals as source of infection.
- Transmission of infectious diseases, phases of transmission.
- Susceptibility of the population to the infection.
- Active and passive vaccination.
- Natural, social-economic factors.
- Global epidemiology, epidemiologic surveillance.
- Programme of eradication and elimination of infectious diseases.
- Principles of control of infectious diseases – elimination of the source, interruption of transmission of infectious agents, measures in a focus of infection.
- Surveillance of nosocomial infections (NI), etiology NI, risk factors of aquiring NI, sources and localization NI, the principles of control NI.
- Decontamination, disinfection and sterilization.
- Special epidemiology
- Epidemiological characteristics of the intestinal infections and prevention of their spreading.
- Epidemiological characteristics of the airborne infections and prevention of their spreading.

- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the basics of general and special epidemiology focusing on the risks of transmission of food infections. An attention is paid especially to food intoxication, specific and nonspecific alimentary diseases including parasitic etiology. A separate part is the issue of hospital hygiene and related legislation.
- Learning outcomes
- At the end of the course the students will be able to understand and explain the process of spread of the infection and factors influencing transmission of infections.
Students will be able to use information about the current epidemiological situation.
Students will be able to create repressive anti-epidemic measures to provide outbreaks.
A graduate of the field is able to make reasoned decisions in the cumulative incidence of known infectious diseases.
Students will be able to interpret laboratory and clinical findings in relation to the risk of transmission of infection. - Syllabus

- Course objectives
- The students will be able on the ende of course the epidemiology of infectious diseases to understand and explain the epidemic process and factors affecting the transmission of infections.
The students can capable tu use the informations about the current events and epidemiologic situation.
The students will be able prezent the basic requirement besides epidemiologic methods also principles of general epidemiology of infectious diseases.
The students in this field has to master the terminology and methods of the epidemiology of non-communicable diseases.
The absolvent will be able to given over ruling about as for being cumulative incidence known infectious diseases - Syllabus
- Goals of the epidemiology.
- The basic knowlegde of epidemiology - understanding the epidemiological metodology (descriptive, analytic, experimental epidemiology).
- Epidemic process; etiology and risk factors of epidemic diseases.
- Form of sources of infection.
- Contagiosity in particular stage of the disease.
- Cariership of patogenic microorganisms. Animals as source of infection.
- Transmission of infectious diseases, phases of transmission.
- Susceptibility of the population to the infection.
- Active and passive vaccination.
- Natural, social-economic factors.
- Global epidemiology, epidemiologic surveillance.
- Programme of eradication and elimination of infectious diseases.
- Principles of control of infectious diseases – elimination of the source, interruption of transmission of infectious agents, measures in a focus of infection.
- Surveillance of nosocomial infections (NI), etiology NI, risk factors of aquiring NI, sources and localization NI, the principles of control NI.
- Decontamination, disinfection and sterilization.
- Special epidemiology
- Epidemiological characteristics of the intestinal infections and prevention of their spreading.
- Epidemiological characteristics of the airborne infections and prevention of their spreading.
- Epidemiological characteristics of blood infections and prevention of their spreading.
- Animals as sources of infection.
- Infections of the skin and superficial mucous membrane – epidemiological characteristics and preventing their transmission.
- Infections as occupational diseases and their prevention.
- Infections in travelling and their prevention.
- Epidemiological inspection in kitchen; the monitoring of the microbiological quality of the environment.
- The control of the disinfection. Interpretation of the results.

- Course objectives
- The branch belongs to preventive-target paraclinic branches of medicine science. Epidemiology of infectious diseases has been bulit on the theoretical and clinical knowledges of the students. The basic requirement present the prevention of the transmission the alimentary infections.

- Surveillance of nosocomial infections (NI), etiology NI, risk factors of aquiring NI, sources and localization NI, the principles of control NI. Hospital feeding. Epidemiological inspection in hospitals; the monitoring of the microbiological quality of the hospital kitchen environment. The control of the disinfection and sterilization. Interpretation of the results.
