Course objectives
The main learning objectives are:
- acquiring theoretical knowledge about the organization and importance of psychiatric care in urgent acute care
- acquiring theoretical knowledge about major psychiatric disorders;
- acquiring theoretical knowledge about dealing with acute psychiatric conditions;
obtaining theoretical knowledge about possible pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment in psychiatry.
Learning outcomes
After the completion of the course the student will be able to:
- understand the importance and organization of psychiatric care in acute urgent care
- describe and recognize symptoms of the most common mental disorders
- suggest appropriate acute treatment to calm an agitated.

Teacher's information
Lectures are held DISTANCE in MS TEAMS, channel: "Bc PA and ZZ lecture - Spring 2021"

The lecture on the given topic will always be recorded in the mentioned MS Teams channel, no later than the date given by the schedule. Students will have the opportunity to listen to the lecture at a time that suits them.

Students will have the opportunity for personal consultation with the teacher (asking questions, ambiguities in lectures, discussions) always on Wednesdays (from March 3 to April 14, 2021) at 12:45 pm in the lecture hall of the Psychiatric Clinic of the University Hospital Brno, 1st floor, Jihlavská 20 .
