Course objectives
The aim is to improve theoretical background in a field of functional organization of human neuro-muscular control, principles of motor learning, human development and neuro-plasticity of central nervous system. Furthermore the objective is to apply neuro-physiological principles of neuro-muscular control and brain structure in movement disorders physiotherapy.
Syllabus
  • Is usefull copying motor development sequences? Physiotherapy and neuro-developmental strategies in Stroke by PNF, NDT, Brunkow
  • Human motor development III: Facilitation of agonist-antagonist co-activation by reflex stimulation methods
  • Neural plasticity: Functional brain re-organisation theories
  • Learning behaviour: Associative and non-associative forms of learning, motor memory and motor learning
  • Hemispheric specialisation: Cerebral lateralisation and dominance, functional and anatomical asymmetries, importance for motor skills
  • Autonomic nervous system in Central Nervous disorders: Neurophysiology, management and neuro-rehabilitation with special emphasis to Multiple Sclerosis (dysautonomia, fatigue, sphincter control dysfunctions)
  • Motor imagery in physiotherapy: Effect of mental movement representation on motor performance and motor learning
