Course objectives
The subject is conceived theoretically and practically; The aim is to prepare a general nurse for specific nursing care in patients in a critical condition within pre-hospital urgent care and specific activity within the medical operation center.
Learning outcomes
Student: - Focuses on basic procedures for pre-hospital emergency care; - can provide basic life support (BLS; - can provide extended life support (ALS) by using the tools available at intensive medicine centers, - controls the performance of heart defibrillation by electric discharge and stimulation of heart rhythm using chest electrodes; - Controls breathing passage without aids and under the supervision of a physician and with the aids available in intensive care workplaces.
Syllabus
  • Facilities for the provision of pre-hospital emergency care;
  • Adult CPR - Basic Life Support (BLS). Procedures for cardiopulmonary resuscitation, activation of the rescue chain, use of specific procedures with simple aids. Possible complications. Extended Life Support (ALS). Procedures for extended cardiopulmonary resuscitation, use of specific procedures with aids and devices, including defibrillation of the heart by electrical discharge, possible pharmacotherapy including the methods of administration of essential drugs. Highly specialized nursing care for patients with extended life support. Anatomical and physiological differences of childhood. Basic urgent resuscitation of children. Extended urgent resuscitation of children. Special ways of resuscitation.
